The Porters Fire Company offers 6 different membership types to accommodate nearly every type of individual wanting to give back to the community.  With roles in operations and support/administrative we’re sure to have something that caters to you and your skills & talents.

Active Member

Ages 18+

Primary Responsibilities: Emergency Operations, begin/continuation of fire education classes, help in day to day operations of firehouse, fundraising/helping at events, attend company meetings.

Junior Active Member

Ages 14-17

Primary Responsibilities: Emergency Operations, begin/continuation of fire education classes, help in day to day operations of firehouse, fundraising/helping at events, attend company meetings.

Must Obey PA’s Child Labor Laws

Auxiliary Active Member

Ages 18+

Primary Responsibilities:  Administrative & Support, fundraising/helping at events, attend company meetings.

Junior Auxiliary Active Member

Ages 12-17

Primary Responsibilities: Administrative & Support, fundraising/helping at events, attend company meetings.

Social Member

Ages 18+

Primary Responsibilities: No responsibilities in the station, joins more for financial support- does not help out at functions or events, does not attend meetings, etc.

Note for Junior Auxiliary Active Members: Once age 14 is reached, they can become a Junior Active Member on the fire side and are able to participate more.
