Engine 53-2 Responds To Working Fire In North Codorus

This morning at 0511 hours, Station 53 was alerted for Engine 53-2 on the 1st Alarm Assignment for Box 12-74 assisting Station 12 (North Codorus) with a residential structure fire. Engine 53-2 responded with a crew of 4. Chief 12-2 arrived with smoke showing and requested the working fire assignment reporting fire in the basement. Engine 47-1 (Jefferson) arrived first and initiated the attack getting a quick knock on the fire, with Engine 12 arriving shortly after. Engine 53-2 arrived simultaneously, was ordered to set up as the nurse tanker and to send the crew forward. The crew was ordered to division 1 for primary search and to check for extension with Chief 53 assigned as division 1 officer. The primary and secondary searches were negative and minimal extension was found and extinguished. The crew overhauled then ventilated the structure. Engine 53-2 returned to service at 0715 hours.
