Engine 53-1 to 33-211 Box for the Commercial Structure Fire

On Friday, August 12th at 1740 hours, Station 53 was alerted for Engine 53-1 to respond to Box 33-211 in the  7300 Lincoln Highway, Paradise Township assisting United Hook and Ladder 33 for the Commercial Structure Fire. YCDES received rapid calls reporting a mattress store on fire. Deputy Chief 33 requested the Working Fire and 2nd Alarm Assignments due to the hot weather. Engine 53-1 responded with a crew of 3. First arriving units found a barn that was converted into a mattress and furniture store with smoke and fire showing. Crews from 33 and Northeast Adams Fire 32 initiated an interior attack, stopping progress of the fire. The crew of Engine 53-1 assisted with fire suppression and overhaul on the 1st floor of the structure. Engine 53-1 was tasked with supplying water to Truck 33 and the 400 foot attack line was stretched to division 2 by the crew of Dover Township Rescue 9.
