Effective immediately, a burn ban is in effect in Heidelberg Township through Sunday, May 1st. This decision was made in conjunction with the Heidelberg Township Board of Supervisors.

A constant breeze and gusty winds, combined with very low relative humidity create prime conditions for wildland/woods fires to spread rapidly.

• Any open burning is prohibited.
• Burn barrels without covers are considered open burning, therefore their use is prohibited.
• Grills are permitted
• COVERED fire pits and propane fire pits are permitted.

Northern York County Regional Police are aware of the burn ban and will be requiring any open burns to be extinguished.
