2nd Alarm in Jackson Followed Up By Box Alarm 12-74

At 0123 hours, Engine 53-2, was alerted for Box Alarm 11-05 on Rockville Road, Jackson Township, assisting Station 11 (Nashville) with a structure fire. Chief 140 arrived reporting a fully involved garage fire and approximately 2 acres of woods on fire and struck the 2nd Alarm. Engine 53-2 dropped the porta-pond and shuttled water while the crews assisted with suppression. Brush 53 and ATV 53, pulled by Car 53, eventually responded on the incident for a total of 10 firefighters. Crews from 53 operated for over 2 hours before returning to quarters. Upon returning to the firehouse and starting cleanup, at 0428 hours Engine 53-2 was alerted to assist Station 12 (North Codorus) with an investigation in a structure in the 12-74 Box. Engine 53-2 responded immediately and arrived first, reporting normal conditions from the exterior. Crews investigated and found a faulty water heater. Engine 53-2 returned to the firehouse shortly after.
